Jakarta – Indonesia Natural Product Expo INPE 2017 merupakan ajang pameran produk bahan alam terbesar di Indonesia yang diselenggarakan pertama kali oleh Badan POM di Jakarta Convention Center JCC, 11 – 14 2017 yang mengusung tema “Indonesian Cultural Heritage of Health and Beauty for the World ini melibatkan beberapa Kementerian/Lembaga, peneliti, akademisi, sektor bisnis di bidang obat tradisional, kosmetik, tanaman obat; dan sektor lainnya yang tertarik untuk mengembangkan dan memproduksi obat bahan alam.“Kegiatan ini akan dilaksanakan rutin setiap tahunnya sebagai rangkaian Gerakan Nasional Peduli Obat dan Pangan Aman GNPOPA”, jelas Kepala Badan POM, Penny K. Lukito dalam keterangan tertulis seperti dikutip dari Jumat 12/5/2017.“Hal ini dilakukan untuk mendekatkan Badan POM kepada masyarakat sehingga masyarakat secara mandiri mampu memilih Obat dan Makanan yang aman, berkhasiat, dan bermutu”, POM berupaya menciptakan iklim yang kondusif untuk mengoptimalkan pengembangan obat bahan alam mengingat potensi alam Indonesia yang besar, terutama untuk pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah UMKM. Sebanyak tanaman obat telah teridentifikasi, namun baru sekitar simplisia sebagai bahan baku obat tradisional yang telah terdaftar di Badan POM.“Salah satu bentuk keberpihakan Badan POM terhadap pelaku UMKM yaitu dengan menyediakan fasilitas pasar jamu free booth kepada pelaku UMKM yang memiliki kendala keterbatasan finansial dan akses pasar namun memiliki tingkat kepatuhan yang tinggi terhadap regulasi”, jelasnya.
